Integral Intelligence

Imagine for a moment a world where the wisdom of all civilizations could meet in the same school.

The knowledge of the Pharaohs and the Aztecs. The teachings of Tibetan lamas, Native American traditions, African Masai and Māori wisdom. Imagine that what these cultures discovered about life and death, our relationship with the cosmos, the intelligence of the animal and plant worlds, the body, energy and consciousness could be brought together.

Now imagine that this ancient knowledge could meet what we are discovering today through biology, neuroscience, psychology and physics.

Imagine that everything humanity has learned throughout time about food, the human body, health, energy, consciousness and the nature of reality could be gathered, explored and shared.

This is what I call Integral Intelligence.

It does not oppose different forms of knowledge. It integrates them.

There is no need to choose between ancestral teachings and modern science, between intuition and reason, between what can be measured and what can only be experienced.

Instead, we can allow these different perspectives to meet, question one another and enrich one another.

This is the territory that fascinates me.

There are dimensions of human experience that we still understand very little: spontaneous healing, altered states of consciousness, extraordinary intuition, the influence of the mind on the body, our relationship with nature and the many mysteries that have accompanied humanity since the beginning.

I don’t believe every ancient belief should automatically be considered true, nor that every mystery needs an immediate scientific explanation. But neither do I believe that what we cannot yet explain should automatically be dismissed.

Our understanding of matter, time, consciousness and even reality itself continues to evolve. What one generation considers impossible can become the field of study of the next.

Our certainties today may simply be the boundaries we push beyond tomorrow.

This is why I remain fascinated by the shamans, healers, mystics and wisdom keepers I have encountered around the world.

Their way of understanding reality is radically different from the conventional Western model.

Science traditionally seeks to observe a phenomenon from the outside, establishing protocols designed to isolate, measure and understand it.

The shaman takes another path.

He knows that he is part of what he observes.

He enters the experience.

He explores consciousness from within, navigating the landscapes of his own mind, body and perception in an attempt to understand himself, nature and the world around him.

One observes from the outside.

The other explores from within.

Integral Intelligence is my attempt to let these worlds speak to one another.

To bring together what humanity has inherited from the past with what we are discovering today.

To remain rigorous without becoming closed.

To remain open without becoming naïve.

And above all, to preserve enough curiosity and humility to accept that reality may be far greater than what we currently understand.
